Mental illnesses are invisible, but they affect people like me every day. My goal in writing here is to help people with mental illnesses feel less alone, as well as help people who do not suffer from a mental illness to understand more about them.
Everyone has a secret. Do you want to know mine?
I have a diagnosed mental illness. What the actual diagnosis happens to be is unimportant – for the major reason that it keeps changing. Though I struggle with a mental illness, I am still a person. I am a Christian. I am not demon-possessed. I am not useless. I still have hopes and dreams.
I love to cook and bake, nearly anything creative, reading, and writing. I’m passionate about advocating for people who struggle with mental illnesses and how we shouldn’t have to be afraid to reveal the fact that we are ill; about how we shouldn’t have to be ashamed that we take medicine to help our minds.
If you want to read posts from someone who suffers from a mental illness and yet is a Christian, then this blog is for you. If you aren’t interested, that’s okay too. There are plenty of other blogs on many other topics.
